Productivity... not enough

I had 6 hours of criminal law study put in today (with an hour lunch break in between). How fun. There's just so much to cover! I might as well just frizzle up and die. Later, I need to pack some stuff to get them moved tomorrow with Michael and Andrew and after that, I need to study for public law. My trusty group study pals are coming over bright and early so I can't sleep late tonight... that will be a feat.

Anyway, thought I'd procrastinate a bit and tell you about Charlotte's birthday - the surprise one we threw for her.

Ollie and I arranged for a treasure hunt with clues leading her to the sound shell at the Botanical Gardens. The tulips were dying but the weather was sunny after days of horrible rain so all was good. We originally planned to fly Shaun (Charlotte's OTHER love interest before Eduard) in from Dunedin but he couldn't make it because he had to finish a thesis on his Honour's paper. It turned out for the best though because Eduard was invited instead.

Gabby baked Charlotte an extremely creative chocolate castle (meant to be a replica of Chester castle?) and we had it while we were at the Sound Shell. It was quite fun, especially when James did a charade to enable Charlotte to guess the destination of our dinner.

After multiple erroneous guesses, including ManStar, she finally guessed that we were heading to Lone Star for dinner. It was a good meal, as Lone Star is famous for their enormous servings. Yum... delicious. Once again, another gastronomous diversion... =) Charlotte also received an inflatable boyfriend from Ollie. We had a problem looking for a manly man name and finally, Charlotte decided on Hank. Hank had quite a lot of fun with the guests at the table that night...

Gaby and I before the dinner... while waiting for the rest to make an appearance. For once, I was EARLY!

After dinner, we adjourned to this exclusive, tucked away bar off Courtney Place called Motel. When I stepped in, it was as though I was transported to the 50s. The music, the decor, the waiters and waitresses... It was surreal. Surreal with a classy touch. I saw quite a number of law cohorts there, undoubtedly scheming away about their next plot to conquer the world.

At Motel. Clockwise: Daniel, Angie (his gf), Stephen, Gaby, Charlotte, moi and Baptiste. Daniel and Angie have their eyes closed, dreaming of another world away from us imbeciles; a world consisting of just the 2 of them... NOT.
