Oh Gosh!
Warning: Law Geek Moment (don't worry if you don't understand this gibberish).
I JUST updated when the news announced that ACC will be giving out lump sum payments for asbestos sufferrors following a decision of the Court of Appeal.
Guys, ROSS LEHMANN WON!!!
Charlotte, our side of the moot won! A few months ago, I was arguing for asbestos sufferrors due to work-related injuries in a moot to favourable reviews from our judge. We all did well, but it's so cool to actually watch my side of the argument winning in reality.
The policy issues, the burden on the family, the justification for the rights given up in torts... *head spinning*
The lawyers for Ross Lehmann must have been arguing the same issues as Charlotte and I were.
I am so excited!
Amazing how interesting I find this new development because really, it's mundane, technical stuff.
Right.
You can pretend you never read this entry.
